About Optimal Microsystems

Optimal Microsystems was founded in 2004 by Jean-Samuel Chenard and Hsin Yun Yao.

The initial objective was to distribute low cost prototyping equipment for microcontrollers and embedded systems in Canada and to provide assistance in selecting the proper equipment.  We are the authorized Olimex distributor for Canada and we aim to provide the best service possible for those evaluation boards and prototyping products.

In 2006, we expanded our product line to support Thai Easy Elec products, including the popular Bluescreen touch screen NXP-based development kit.

In 2011, we added the extensive Embest, Armkits and Samicc product line with more powerful processors, large touch screen TFT panels and embedded linux hardware support.

We wish to thank the hundreds of customers that helped us grow over those years and wish to continue supporting so many interesting projects for years to come.
